McEvoy Ranch yields a bounty of organic herbs and botanicals that are used in our popular array of soaps and salves. Try some for yourself.

At McEvoy Ranch, we’re working towards building a self-sufficient ecosystem where everything has a purpose. Anything that isn’t used in the kitchen is given away to employees, composted, or incorporated into our line of estate-produced items that utilize not only our olive oil, but other offerings from the land as well.

Among the most popular of these estate-produced items are our handmade olive oil soaps, crafted from scratch with the same care we take in the creation of our olive oil. By using the cold-process method of soapmaking, the soap goes naturally through its chemical transformation without any added heat. Through this process, natural glycerin, valued for its beneficially moisturizing qualities, is created and retained in the soap.

Equally popular are our all-natural hand salves made from the barest ingredients and infused with our oil, organic lavender, and other healing herbs and botanicals.

Occasionally at McEvoy Ranch to keep up with the pace of nature, we must replace old and damaged trees. In an effort to see that nothing goes to waste, we bring the largest salvageable branches to a local wood artisan who hand carves exquisite bowls and other one-of-a-kind timeless works of art. Each piece is signed by the artist and makes for a truly special gift or keepsake.

Our estate-produced honey and Meyer lemon marmalade make a great addition to any kitchen table or pantry.

All of these items and more are available at our store in the San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace and online marketplace.

The implementation of a racking system in our olive oil storage tanks means that the organic solid matter from the settling of the oil (which is not consumed) is made available for use in our hand-made soaps.

Rich in minerals, it is this sediment in its most concentrated state that takes its form as the “mud” in our soaps of the same name.
