Each spring, when our fall crop allows, we like to share a fresh taste of our orchards inspired by the great variety of olive trees growing throughout the property. This year that blend is our 2013 Limited Edition extra virgin olive oil.
This Limited Edition olive oil release gives our Master Oil Makers the freedom to be creative, experimenting with other milling methods and exploring different combinations of fruit to produce a one-of-a-kind blend.
This year's spring release is comprised of olives from Moraiolo (85%), Frantoio (12%) and Coratina (3%) trees.
The intense floral aromas and robust fruit flavors of Moraiolo and the depth and complexity of Frantoio are complemented by Coratina's peppery note. This oil has a bold green fruit flavor with a modest astringency; it's well-balanced with no discernible bitterness and a long, peppery finish. Elegant aromas of garden greens, fresh-cut grass and wild radish reflect the McEvoy Ranch terroir.
Each year's Limited Edition blend features a commemorative letterpress label by Dauphine Press. In celebration of our inaugural winery releases this summer, our Limited Edition artwork will match the label gracing our winery's proprietary blend, Red Piano.
Find our 2013 Limited Edition blend ($25 - 375ml size, only) exclusively in our San Francisco Ferry Building shop and online beginning Friday, May 24th. Online orders will begin shipping Tuesday, May 28th.
