Our Outstanding in the Field dinner is less than a month away and our mouths are watering.
Dominique Crenn, our guest chef for this year from Luce restaurant in San Francisco, and her sous chef, Daniel Corey, came up to Petaluma last week to visit the ranch.
They wanted to get a sense of the layout for the event and check out the gardens to see what we'll have in season for the May 9th supper.
When we showed them the site of the satellite kitchen they'll be using to prepare an al fresco meal in the orchards for two hundred people, they hardly looked fazed. Let's not forget she was a recent (and fierce) competitor on the Food Network's "Next Iron Chef."
In fact, she told us in her thick, French accent, "I've got le menu and it is very sexy. I cannot wait!"
Neither can we.
