Eat Local Month

If you live in the Bay Area, your pantry and fridge are likely stocked with plenty of your local favorites:
Local cheese? (Pt. Reyes, perhaps?) Check!
Local Olive oil? (Petaluma) Check!
Local Wine? (Duh) Check!
Easy as.....
But is everything in your kitchen local? Bread, probably, but flour?
Saturday I finally found the wheatberry mill at the Ferry Plaza Farmers' market.
In case you thought you couldn't go that local, here's your proof:
October is Eat Local Month in San Francisco. Beyond grinding your wheatberries and rethinking parts of your diet sourced too far away, you can learn all about the economic, health and flavor benefits of purchasing local foods with a speaker series, tastings and events like San Francisco Magazine's Fallfest on October 11th (where you'll find us).
