Feijoa

This entry was posted on November 13, 2009 by McEvoy Ranch.

feijoabestFeijoa, also known as a Pineapple Guava or Guavasteen, are native to Southern Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay and Northern Argentina. And, they're growing like crazy at the ranch right now. They're sturdy little egg-shaped fruits with a thick, bitter skin and sweet, tropical flesh. You can slice them in half and eat the insides by the spoonful or try one of these recipes below: Do any of you have another good Feijoa recipe to share? Feijoas are for sale this week in our Ferry Building shop. Give us a call for the most current availability: 415-291-7224.
