In 2008 we began producing a limited edition oil from each year's harvest. Inspired by the wide variety of olives we grow, our reserve blend gives us an opportunity to experiment with different milling methods and offer a new taste of McEvoy Ranch each spring.
Harvested in January, our 2011 Limited Edition is comprised of a medley of mature, slow-ripened olives from our most fruitful year to date---a fitting commemoration, as we look back over the 20 years since the planting of our original 1,000 Tuscan seedlings.
This celebratory blend is comprised of Moraiolo (85%), Coratina (12%), and Leccio del Corno (3%) varietals. The Moraiolo lends a distinct floral note, followed by a hint of bitterness and a long, peppery finish. And like last year's reserve blend, the flavor profile reflects our ranch terroir with notes of fresh spinach and Miner's lettuce.
