Support your local Foodshed

Our local farmers/cheesemakers/ranchers/olive oil producers/winemakers and oyster growers need your support!

I have family members who live on islands. One on Oahu and another on a small island in the San Juans in Washington state. Think Covid-19 and supply chain and realize how fortunate we are to live in Northern California - not on an island. There are many new heroes in our current circumstances. Thanks to folks in the supply chain who have stepped up - truckers, warehouse workers, and delivery drivers to name a few - we have access to healthy and delicious food to get us through this crisis. Our local producers are doing everything possible to help. Here, at McEvoy Ranch, we have just reopened our website. We are complying with all the government regulations necessary to keep our employees safe and healthy. Thanks to our supply team in Ukiah, you can restock on olive oil! We have five new Agrumato olive oils you can experiment with now that you have time to cook. Take advantage of this! Oh, we have wine available too. That could possibly cause a little happy dance... Cowgirl Creamery and Pt.Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company are both offering free shipping. You can order takeout from Hog Island Oyster Company's new location in Marin Mart - cocktails too! On the website ilovefarmersmarkets.org, you can order online and pick up a box selected for you. Choose the market where you normally shop and all of the vendors are listed with the products they have available. Fortunately for me, I have Silver Sky Farms pastured eggs, Bellwether Farms Ricotta and McEvoy Ranch Spicy Green Olive Tapenade.

These elevated scrambled eggs are my current favorite comfort food.

Scrambled Eggs with McEvoy Ranch Spicy Green Olive Tapenade If you want to support a local food producer, go online to their website. Websites are constantly being updated and will help you figure out how to stock up with their products. These are trying times for everyone. We want these folks around when things settle down and we want their employees to have jobs. Local food is safe and healthy - support your local foodshed! Thank you!
