Vineyard Manager and Vintner Ulises Valdez Passes Away

This entry was posted on September 17, 2018 by John Calmeyer.

We were very sorry to hear of the passing of vineyard manager and vintner Ulises Valdez last week. A widely respected and much loved figure in the California wine industry, he truly embodied the American dream. His vineyard management company farms over 1,000 acres and he released his first wine under the Valdez Family Winery name in 2004. Aaron Romano at Wine Spectator has written a fitting tribute to a man who will be missed by many in the industry.
