Sales Director, Specialty Food

Manage functions essential to the sales of our estate-produced and curated oil and of specialty foods for both the retail and wholesale markets; perform outside sales. Develops sales strategies for product lines, reporting, quota setting, management, retail associate sales training, and sales program implementation. Meets and exceeds annual sales goals.

  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base with short and long-term sales goals. Pursue new sales opportunities and channels to expand distribution and revenue.
  • Direct creation and execute effective sales programs to support Retail Sales Managers. Develop sales training specifically for specialty foods and deliver same to sales associates at retail locations as well as with events team.
  • Build and manage a team of national distributors, cultivating new relationships where needed to expand our sales reach. Maintain excellent communication with established distributors. Sell our wines to existing wholesale specialty food customers.
  • Collaborate with national Sales Director in planning and budgeting.
  • Work closely with marketing in creating the McEvoy specialty foods brand, including collateral materials, packaging, etc.
  • Develop and implement company sales initiatives for specialty foods.
  • Represent the company at national trade shows, major account sales presentations, and product trainings.
  • Maintain and enhance close contact with current and long-term customers.
  • Some travel required for trade shows and to meet with customers.


  • 3-6 years of experience in specialty foods/artisan foods with demonstrable success at both the wholesale and retail levels. Experience selling wine a plus.
  • Ability to establish long-range objectives and specify the strategies and actions for achievement.
  • High functioning analytical ability to evaluate sales, market and product data, information and results to create best sales plans and to solve problems.
  • Strong negotiating skills and understanding of legal concepts of customer/vendor contracts.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, evaluation of customer satisfaction and development of specific sales plans to address generational differences of customers.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Excellent external and internal communication skills, especially to represent the organization to customers, the public, and others.
  • High level of integrity, and ethics.
  • Familiarity with Brandwise, Quickbooks and Fishbowl, and sales management software and efficient Microsoft Office user.

Lead Mechanic

Responsible for the inspection, maintenance and basic repair of tractors and other farm equipment and machinery. Some fabrication and welding will be required, as well as hauling equipment and materials from one point to another. The orchard and vineyard equipment will be the primary focus of this position; however, the individual will be expected to perform tasks outside of farming from time to time.

  • Five years’ experience performing maintenance and repairs to: Tractors, automotive (cars and pick-up trucks), hand tools, power tools, need of equipment knowledge and repair, including, but not limited to: braking systems, scan tools, fuel pressure testers, manifold gauge sets, electronic testing devices, oil pressure gauges, tire pressure gauges, hydraulic test gauges, chain saws, weed eaters, ball joint separators, bearing pullers, gear puller tools, slide hammer, chain wrenches, locking wrenches, lug wrenches, electric harvesters, carbon scrapers, gasket scrapers, spoons, crawlers, wheel tractor, front end loader, utility vehicles, forklifts, electronic carts, mowers, sprayers, trailers, dusters, chippers, pumps, ripper, rototiller, seeder, spreader, pressure washer, pallet jack, compressor, engine motors, and drills.
  • Irrigation pumps, water filters, and associated mechanical a plus.
  • Olive Mill equipment and machinery an added bonus.
  • Valid driver’s license. Class A license or willingness to obtain.
  • Understanding of concepts and techniques related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, architectural design as well as ability to impart technical ability to others, including those without technical expertise. Knowledge level includes mill equipment, boilers, heating furnaces, pool pumps and motors, kitchen equipment and septic systems.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and internet search for purchases.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets for recordkeeping purposes.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of CAL OSHA & OSHA Occupational Safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of planning, purchasing and project management desired.
  • Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

  • Direct maintenance and repair work for all critical mechanical infrastructures, equipment and fleet at all McEvoy properties. Maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Serve as primary informational resource regarding mechanical maintenance.
  • Plan, troubleshoot, coordinate and performs mechanical maintenance and repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on all farming equipment, to include: . Maintain service contract records. Keep maintenance records on all ranch equipment.
  • Coordinate service and repairs for all equipment and vehicles. Manages inventory and purchasing of new farm tools and for ordering and tracking repair parts with a purchasing limit of up to $500. Provide recordkeeping of all purchases.
  • Assist in training all qualified personnel on how to use and operate all farm equipment safely and correctly.
  • Prepare equipment for various vineyard uses (prep sprayers and tractors). Move farm equipment from one ranch to another as needed.
  • Provide on-call support when after-hour emergencies or other issues arise.
  • Recommends the purchase of new and used equipment as well as selling current equipment that is no longer needed or equipment that has been replaced or updated. Perform limited installation of new equipment and systems.
  • Assist Operations Director in preparing annual facilities budget for those areas of responsibility. Monitor equipment/tools/supplies, fleet and service expenses against approved budget parameters. Perform estimating and cost comparison analysis of projects.
  • Supervise apprentice mechanic (train, develop, motivate, provide feedback).
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.
