Shop cruelty-free products from ODE Natural Beauty and McEvoy Ranch. We’re a group of animal lovers and if you’ve ever come to visit us at the Ranch, there are a number of surprises you might encounter in and around our olive tree orchards.
We have thriving populations of wild jackrabbits, bees, native birds, oodles of our iconic blue-tailed skink, deer hovering outside our gates (because they love snacking on our olive trees a little too much) and even a bobcat every now and again.
Anyone visiting our gardens, you’ll surely meet our very friendly felines, Milo and Sid, or one of our staff members’ dogs.
Needless to say, we’re a company of animal lovers, and their health and livelihood are always on our minds.
When we erected our 147-foot wind turbine in 2009 to support our green energy initiative, it was installed after testing and consultations with the Point Reyes Bird Observatory, Golden Gate Raptor Observatory, and other biologists, to ensure that our local wildlife populations weren’t in harm’s way.
And when we developed our ODE Natural Beauty beauty care collection, animal testing was never even a consideration, as is too often the case in the cosmetic industry.
Cruelty-free production is simply a standard for us here at the ranch, and we’re delighted to be aligned with more like-minded brands as certified members of the Leaping Bunny Program.
The Leaping Bunny, an internationally recognized logo for the CCIC (Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics,) represents eight national animal protection groups that banded together to create a single, comprehensive standard for cruelty-free production practices in the cosmetic and household product industries.
The Standard ensures that all product ingredients are free of animal testing at every stage in the production chain, domestically or abroad. It also requires companies to implement a supplier monitoring system to become certified.
The Leaping Bunny network boasts more than 600 companies. They have a free app to make shopping for cruelty-free products easier.
