The Montepulciano, Refosco, and Sagrantino grapes in our 2019 Il Poggio come from our certified organic estate vineyard, planted on a series of rolling hills, similar to those in Tuscany. We named this wine “Il Poggio,” which means “hill” or “elevated place” in Italian.
Deceptively light on its feet at 12.5% alcohol, this wine is redolent of blackberry, sour cherry, and plum. Fine tannins frame the fruit nicely, and it has been eminently quaffable since day one and aged for 14 months in neutral French oak puncheons.
Our customers wait all year for this release, and once again, it will not disappoint—an exceptional wine, at an exceptional price.
