Customer Service Specialist

We are seeking a full time Customer Service Specialist to join our Customer Experience team to provide exceptional customer service via phone, email and in person. You will work with all our departments in processing orders, responding to customer inquiries, providing administrative support to our wine club, resolving problems and educating our customers in our products.

Inspired by a love of the land and renegade thinking, our family-owned 550-acre sprawling ranch has fewer than 15% planted to olives and grapes to maintain a healthy balance with our natural surroundings. Our unique vineyard location in the Petaluma Gap is conducive to cultivating Pinot Noir, Syrah, Montepulciano, Grenache, and Viognier grapes for our limited production wines. Our award-winning certified organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the result of a mindful and passionate dedication to excellence, from orchard to bottle. The position can either be in the Petaluma Ranch location or our production facility in Ukiah, depending on the choice of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing, energetic and professional manner, while maintaining a relaxed approach
  • 2-5 yeas of customer experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to practice critical thinking skills and strike the appropriate balance between satisfying the customer and supporting McEvoy ranch policies
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively. Commitment to develop and expand knowledge of McEvoy Ranch products, systems and procedures
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of POS, QuickBooks, Magento, Fishbowl a plus

Qualifications and Experience

  • Operating a computer and key board with frequent use of hand and finger movements six hours per day.
  • Position works in an office environment.
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. and push & pull at least 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach up and above shoulders.
  • Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces and concrete floor.
  • Driver’s license, insurance and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • The primary focus of this position will be preparing for and conducting various educational events including wine and olive oil tastings
  • Leading Ranch tours for guests and prospective clients of Ranch Events Department
  • Serving customers in our Ranch Retail Store
  • Professionally and accurately present information on all our ranch offerings and products
  • May require occasional trips to Petaluma to purchase supplies for tastings and events
  • Commitment to developing an upbeat rapport with customers to cultivate interest in our products
  • Maintaining the tasting room, retail sales room and food preparation area

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience hosting wine tastings at a winery or events venue
  • Excellent demonstration and presentation skills, along with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing, energetic and professional manner, while maintaining a relaxed approach
  • College coursework in oenology, culinary arts, agriculture, or wine sales a plus
  • Previous experience in conducting tours or public speaking a plus
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; POS experience helpful
  • Physical requirements include ability to carry/move/lift up to 40 pounds, to stand and/or walk for majority of shift over uneven ground, and to work outside in all seasons.
  • Must be age 21 or older with good driving record

Farm Worker

We have an opening for a full-time position as a Farm Worker on the McEvoy Ranch in Petaluma, California. The staff members of the Farm Worker team are responsible for the care and maintenance of the vineyards, olive orchard, general landscaping, and the duties change with the seasons.

McEvoy Ranch is a producer and marketer of fine Extra Virgin Olive Oil, specialty foods, wine, merchandise, and events. Our vineyards and orchards produce our award-winning wines and olive oils.

Responsibilities

  • A list of general daily activities includes activities for crop care from new plantings, replanting, pruning, weeding and harvest.
  • Our staff work primarily with hand tools and some power tools for pruning.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of similar experience working in a vineyard and/or orchard.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to bring energy to the performance of a task
  • Ability to react with patience and level-headedness in rough terrain
  • Able to read & write some English or Spanish.
  • Ability to follow instructions

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged physical activity required including standing, sitting, climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending, mixing, loading, reaching, lifting and walking on uneven ground for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Works outdoors year-round
